为了迎接即将到来的新学期，8月23日－24日，美达菲双语高级中学的全体教职员工在上海美达菲图书馆参加了为期两天、不同主题的专业培训。培训针对新学期整体规划、美达菲国际课程项目及教学要点、班主任培训及学生管理部署、以及新生校内学术拓展夏令营展开，让教职员工们明确了新学期的工作目标，为一周后的开学做好充分的准备。

In order to prepare for the coming semester, all staff of MacDuffie Bilingual High School attended a two-day professional training on different topics at library in Shanghai from August 23 to 24. The training was carried out in accordance with the overall plan of the new semester, international courses and teaching of MacDuffie, class managers and students management, as well as the academic summer camp for new students. The training made the staff clear of their work objectives for the new semester and made full preparations for the new semester one week later.

23号上午的培训中，王东焕校长高屋建瓴地介绍了新学期的总体部署。

首先，他与大家一起欢迎了新加入美达菲的老师们，并祝福他们在新的岗位上发挥才干，培养更多优秀的学生。

其次，他为大家部署了2021-2022学年的安排，强调了要关注招生与稳生、以及升学指导的工作。

最后，王校长尤其强调了教学管理与学生管理的工作，敦促大家齐心协力，一起让美达菲的明天更美好。

In the training on the morning of 23rd, Principal Wang Donghuan introduced the overall deployment of the new semester from a strategically advantageous position. 

He welcomed the new teachers and wished them to develop their talents in their new positions and cultivate more excellent students. 

He then laid out the 2021-2022 school year, stressing the need to focus on admissions. 

Finally, he emphasized the teaching management and student management, urging everyone to work together to make The future of MacDuffie better. 

下午，人力资源部培训了《员工手册》里的重点内容，明确了教学工作中的行为规范。

In the afternoon, the human resources department trained the key contents in the Employee Handbook and clarified the code of conduct in teaching.

24号上午，学术副校长刘相涛和外方学术协调员David Scoggins分享了5月IB大考的优异成绩，对IB学科教师的工作给予肯定。刘校长介绍了新学期各位老师教授课程的规划安排，并说明了开学后教学管理工作的重点：

On the morning of 24th, Liu Xiangtao, Academic Vice Principal, and David Scoggins, Foreign Academic Coordinator, shared the excellent results of the IB exam in May and praised the work of IB teachers. Principal Liu introduced the curriculum planning and arrangement of each teacher in the new semester, and explained the key points of teaching management after the opening of the semester:

管理团队会组织听课、评课；

对部分学科分层教学，继续做好学术支持；

教务定期检查教学常规并严格进行学术评估；

组织教学技能大赛；

通过学科竞赛辅导培养学生的潜力和兴趣；

做好IB五年评审工作等。 

The management team will organize lectures and evaluation; 

Teachers should continue to provide academic support and carry out the multi-level teaching of certain subjects;

The Office of Academic Affairs will hold regular checks on teaching routine and conduct strict academic evaluation;

Teaching skills competitions will be organized;

Students' potential and interest will be cultivated in discipline competitions;

Teachers will be assigned to prepare for the IB five-year evaluation and etc.

下午的新生夏令营会议，刘校讲解了整个活动期间的日程安排、注意事项，并针对课堂教学中的常见问题，以即兴表演的形式鼓励大家各抒己见，讨论如何展现教学智慧、激发学生的学习兴趣与潜能。

In the afternoon of the summer camp preparation meeting for new students, Principal Liu explained the schedule throughout the activity. In view of the common issues in daily teaching, Principal Liu encouraged everyone to express their opinions in the form of role-play, and discussed how to show teaching wisdom and stimulate students' interest and potential in learning.

班主任会议中，运营及德育副校长王海鹏详细说明了新学期对班主任的期待与要求，下发了班级管理、学生管理的规章制度文件并做好了新老生返校迎接的安排部署。 

In the class managers meeting, Wang Haipeng, Vice Principal of Operation and Moral Education, explained the expectations and requirements for class teachers in the new semester in detail, issued the rules and regulations for class management and student management, and made arrangements for students return to school.

两天的会议让教职员工收获颇丰，为大家指明了新学期工作的方向，大家信心满满，准备以饱满的热情迎接新的挑战。良好的开端是成功的一半，相信在新学期，美达菲的师生一定会获得更多的成就！
