学校简介

常州外国语附属双语学校坐落在常州国家高新区,紧邻沪宁高速,京沪高铁和常州地铁一号线。

Changwai Bilingual School is located in Changzhou National High-tech Zone, close to Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway and Changzhou Metro Line 1.

常外双语成立于2018年,以常州外国语学校的办学基础为依托,并于2020年正式获得IBO国际文凭组织授权,成为常州地区第一所也是唯一一所IB世界成员学校。

Changwai Bilingual School was established in 2018, relying on the foundation of Changzhou Foreign Languages School, and it was officially authorized by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization) in 2020, becoming the first and only IB World School in Changzhou.

At the elementary stage of CBS, the PYP section integrates the Chinese national curriculum with the IB philosophy and accounts for foundational academic skills, the acquisition of the Chinese and English languages and cultures, the personalized development of students, and social and behavioral growth. Our students not only attain knowledge, but they also learn to respect that knowledge and everyone around them with a spirit of international-mindedness. We aim to develop students into inquisitive, knowledgeable, and caring young people, and we encourage them to become active and enthusiastic lifelong learners.

小班丨Small Class

采取小班化、双轨制的班级分配模式,每个年级两个班级,每班人数不超过20人。中外教协作管理班级。

With 20 students or less in each class and two classes in each grade, our system allows for close interaction between teachers and students. Each student becomes a focus, and each person has time and space to enhance their knowledge, share their personality, and establish relationships under the collaborative management of Chinese and international teachers.

CBS Primary School uses the national curriculum as the core topics and the IB curriculum as the framework and method. We adhere to a full and balanced education policy and practice holistic education. We take care to cater to different learner types and speeds. Students’ learning flows naturally through our inquiry-based approach. Our courses are concept-driven and interdisciplinary, which recognizes that the answers to many questions require many different types of knowledge and sources of information working together. Students develop an understanding of important concepts, acquire essential skills and knowledge, develop positive attitudes, and learn to take socially responsible action. The inquiry plan is combined with the learning scope and sequence of each subject to form a coherent curriculum.

We offer up to 30 extracurricular activities for students to choose, including equestrianism, fencing, UAV, Spanish, chess, Chinese martial arts, and many more. These extracurricular activities help the children learn to take risks, challenge their abilities, and make friends in a safe and interesting growth environment.

外出探究活动 Field Trip

基于每一轮的超学科探究,我们设计与课程内容相关联的外出探究活动,借助社会资源,走进广阔的户外天地,学习团队协作,锻炼适应能力,树立自信心。

Based on each round of transdisciplinary inquiry learning, we design field trip activities related to the course content, go into the vast outdoor world with the help of social resources, learn teamwork, exercise adaptability and establish self-confidence.
