Bauhinia Festival

今年是香港回归26周年。

紫荆花是香港的区花，象征着家庭和睦，团结和美。在香港特别行政区区旗上，有红旗中央配有5颗星的动态紫荆花。其中，红旗代表祖国，紫荆花（香港市花）代表香港，紫荆花红旗体现了香港是祖国不可分割的一部分，也体现了香港在祖国怀抱中兴旺发达的景象。花蕊上的五角星体现了香港人心向祖国；花呈白色表示有别于祖国其它部分的红色，即体现“一国两制”。

每年的四五月份是紫荆花盛花期，作为国内首家港澳子弟学校，广州暨大港澳子弟学校（ASJ）5月份举行“第二届紫荆花节暨语言文化艺术节”系列活动，期间，学校会结合教学活动进行一系列的语言、艺术、文化的比赛和展示，以呈现学生的语言特色、文化底蕴和艺术修为。

5月17日，为进一步提升学生语言能力和国际视野，增进内地港澳子弟学校与香港学校之间的交流和学习，在总校长郑景亮先生的带领下，广州暨大港澳子弟学校师生前往中国香港，与香港拔萃女书院(DGS)、拔萃女小学(DGJS)和香港官立嘉道理爵士小学(SEKS)的学生开展以“我看大湾区”为主题的2023紫荆花节——两文三语演讲友谊赛及学术交流活动。

演讲比赛中，穗港两地三校学生们分别以大湾区三座城市为主题，通过两文三语的演讲形式，展现自身对于城市发展与变化的感受，以及对于大湾区未来发展的期望。活动进一步深化了穗港两地港籍学生之间的文化融合，增进彼此友谊，拓宽学习视野。

2022年，广州暨大港澳子弟与香港拔萃女书院以“香港-我的东方明珠”与“我的家在中国”为主题，通过“两文三语”的形式在穗港两地举行线上的友谊演讲赛。活动受到两校师生、家长以及社会各界的广泛好评。

作为内地首家港澳子弟学校，此行广州暨大港澳子弟学校师生代表除了参加演讲比赛外，还对香港拔萃女书院和香港官立嘉道理爵士小学这两所香港久负盛名的中小学进行参访和学术交流。

香港拔萃女书院校长刘靳丽娟女士表示，去年DGS与ASJ的线上比赛中，感受到两校学子对“两文三语”的纯熟运用，深深感受到粤港澳大湾区共融。今年，能在DGS举办演讲比赛，同学们用卓越的语文和英语能力征服了在场的所有观众。她希望，以后能和ASJ有更多交流，促进两校学子深度接轨，彼此砥砺、共同奋进，建立深厚友谊。

香港官立嘉道理爵士小学副校长周达强，ASJ和SEKS都有不少外籍学生，如何在教育中进行文化交融，是两校教育中共同面对的挑战。他期望两校师生日后能有更多交流，共同进步。

广州暨大港澳子弟学校的师生们深入课堂进行听课、观课，与香港两校的师生进行教学与学习经验的座谈分享，也期盼借此机会将香港地区优秀的教学理念和教学经验，以及学生人才培养模式在大湾区进一步推广。实地的课堂观摩和穗港两地师生的深入交流，将进一步拓展穗港两地中小学课程内容的融合与合作，促进文化的交流与互通，帮助大湾区港澳台侨及外籍子弟更好地了解国家发展，促进青少年积极投身于粤港澳大湾区及未来国家发展当中，一展所长。

作为广州暨大港澳子弟学校“紫荆花节”暨“语言文化艺术节”的重要活动之一，学校推动穗港两地中小学生“我看大湾区”两文三语友谊演讲比赛，是培养湾区学子家国情怀，增加友谊，拓展视野，增强文化交流的重要平台。

期望该活动能够成为粤港澳大湾区中小学文化交流的品牌活动之一，有效增强穗港两地青少年学生对粤港澳大湾区融合的理解和传承，着力培养具有家国情怀和国际视野的新时代粤港澳大湾区青少年。

This year marks the 26th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China.

The Bauhinia is the regional flower of Hong Kong, symbolizing family harmony, unity and beauty. On the regional flag of Hong Kong SAR, there is a red flag with a dynamic Bauhinia flower with 5 stars in the center. Among them, the red flag represents the motherland and the Bauhinia (the city flower of Hong Kong) represents Hong Kong. The red flag of Bauhinia reflects that Hong Kong is an inseparable part of the motherland and the sight of Hong Kong prospering in the embrace of the motherland.

The five-pointed star on the stamen reflects the heart of Hong Kong people to the motherland; the white color of the flower indicates that it is different from the red color of other parts of the motherland, which reflects "one country, two systems".

As the first school for Hong Kong and Macau children in China, ASJ holds the "2nd Bauhinia Festival and Language and Culture Arts Festival" in May, during which the school will conduct a series of language, art and culture competitions and demonstrations in conjunction with teaching activities to A series of language, art and culture competitions and demonstrations will be held in conjunction with the school's educational activities to showcase the students' language characteristics, cultural heritage and artistic skills.

On May 17, to further enhance students' language ability and international perspective, and to promote exchanges and learning between Hong Kong and Macau children's schools in the Mainland and schools in Hong Kong, Teachers and students from ASJ went to Hong Kong, China, under the leadership of Mr. Cheng Jingliang, the Chief Principal, to have a workshop with students from Diocesan Girls' School (DGS), Diocesan Girls' Primary School (DGS) and Sir Ellis Kadoorie Primary School (SEKS) in Hong Kong.

The students and teachers of the Hong Kong and Macau children's school in Guangzhou went to Hong Kong, China, to have a friendly biliteracy and trilingual speech competition and academic exchange with students from Diocesan Girls' College (DGS), Diocesan Girls' Primary School and Sir Ellis Kadoorie Primary School (SEKS) in Hong Kong, with the theme of "I see the Greater Bay Area". 

In the speech contest, students from the three schools in Guangzhou and Hong Kong took the three cities in the Greater Bay Area as the theme and showed their feelings about the development and changes of the cities and their expectations for the future development of the Greater Bay Area through the form of biliterate and trilingual speeches. The event further deepened the cultural integration between Hong Kong students from Guangzhou and Hong Kong, enhanced mutual friendship and broadened their learning horizons.

In 2022, ASJ and Diocesan Girls' College in Hong Kong will hold an online friendship speech contest with the theme of "Hong Kong - My Pearl of the Orient" and "My Home in China" through a "biliteracy and trilingualism" format. The event was well received by teachers, students, parents and students from both schools. The event was well received by teachers, students, parents and the community in both schools.

They also looked forward to taking this opportunity to further promote the excellent teaching philosophy and teaching experience as well as the talent cultivation model of students in Hong Kong in the Greater Bay Area.

The classroom observation and in-depth exchanges between teachers and students from Hong Kong and Guangzhou will further expand the integration and cooperation of the curriculum contents of primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, promote cultural exchanges and interactions, help the children of Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and foreigners in the Greater Bay Area to better understand the development of the country, and promote the youth to actively participate in the Greater Bay Area and the future development of the country, and show their talents.

As one of the important activities of the "Bauhinia Festival" and "Language and Culture Arts Festival" of ASJ, the school promotes the "I See the Great Bay Area" biliteracy and trilingual friendship speech contest for primary and secondary school students from Guangzhou and Hong Kong. The trilingual friendship speech contest is an important platform to cultivate national sentiments, increase friendship, broaden horizons and enhance cultural exchange among students in the Bay Area.

It is expected that this activity will become one of the brand activities of cultural exchange between primary and secondary schools in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, effectively enhancing the understanding and heritage of the integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau in the Greater Bay Area for young students in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and focusing on cultivating young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau in the Greater Bay Area in the new era with family sentiment and international vision.
