Interview

如何让孩子具备利用工具解决现实问题的能力呢？

我们的探索者课程直接把课堂变为大型面试现场。

5月期间，我校八年级学生完成了准备简历，筛选简历，准备面试，面试反馈一系列项目实操，拓宽课堂边界，化理论知识为实际运用能力，沉浸式体验升学面试流程。

01 现场回顾

在VKBS，我们致力于培养学生听、说、读、写的实用技能及创造性和批判性的思维方式，因为这些能力在当今社会至关重要。

八年级学生的C.V.制作就是一个将这些技能串联并加以运用的实践方式。学生们将经过数次起草和修改，并得到同学和老师的反馈，然后制作出他们在申请高中时能够实际使用的C.V.。之后学生将练习面试技巧，了解学校面试中最常见的问题并利用各种工具获取高中的信息。

5月22日及5月29日，学校的blackbox“化身”面试现场，每一位学生都会亲身体验面试者及面试官的角色。在学生们前期调研的基础上，学生们会提交简历，并与“面试官”（同学）进行面试。通过这种方式，学生们将会做好准备迎接国际和全球化教育的现实和严格要求，无论他们未来身在何处，这个实践过程都是对他们能力的提升及拓展。

In VKBS, to build practical skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and creativity and critical thinking as they will be used in the 21st century. A key exemplar which utilizes all of these skills in a realistic and hands-on way is our C.V.

In 8th grade，students will go through several drafts and revisions with peer and teacher feedback and then produce C.V. they will actually be able to use when applying to high schools.

After that, students will practice interview skills and learn about the most common questions asked in school interviews. They also research real high schools.

Eventually, there will be a mock interview in which each student interviews and is interviewed by their classmates. Utilizing their research, students “apply” to the schools they researched, submit their C.V., and interview with a peer.

By doing this, VKBS students are prepared for the realities and rigors of an international and globalized education wherever they choose to attend high school, and gain real-life skills in the process.

02 学生感言

来自8年级的Jessica Wang 王奕忻（作为面试者）这样说到：

当面试官提问时,刚开始我是紧张忐忑的,但随着谈话的进行,面试官的微笑友善让我渐渐变得放松了起来。

令我最深刻的一个问题是 "How do your friends evaluate you? Do you agree?"听到这个问题,我脑海里第一个想到的评价就是“啊哈” ,(只是同学之间的玩笑罢了) 对此我的回答是: “No, because I feel like I'm a reserved girl !”

总而言之,面试的整个过程还是非常顺利的,希望我在下次面试时能做的更好。

As an interviewee, CV is essential for my preparation. I will first search for a template in the Word document, and then add or subtract information according to my own needs, and strategically arrange the layout. In my CV, I mainly wrote four basic pieces of information: the profile, personal information, education, and skills summary.

这次的模拟面试活动是一次愉悦的体验，我和同学们也收获颇多。本次我担任的是Verde Valley School的面试官。事前，我去网上搜索了关于这个学校的基本信息及理念。发现了这个学校独特的实践式教育理念。在面试中有也多次提问面试者关于这个理念的看法以确保她与我们学校的适配度。

我面试的第一个人是Jessica，她在繁忙的学习生活中仍能利用卓越的时间安排的能力坚持自己的热爱的精神是我所钦佩的。我习惯于在面试完成后填写评分表。这样才能保证我们沟通的质量。 这次活动对我们所有的八年级学生都是一次可贵的经历，为未来的升学提供了帮助。

The mock interview activity was an enjoyable experience, and we gained a lot from it. This time I was the interviewer for Verde Valley School. Beforehand, I searched online for some basic information about the school and its educational philosophy. I found the school's unique philosophy of hands-on education. During the interview, I asked the interviewee several questions about their opinions on this kind of philosophy to make sure he or she would be a good fit for our school.

The first person I interviewed was Jessica, and I admired her ability to use her excellent scheduling skills to stay true to her passion despite her busy academic life. I always fill out the rating sheet after the interview is completed. This ensures the quality of our communication. This event was a valuable experience for all of our 8th graders for future application processes.
