记国际部初小学段教师专业发展日

 

“渔舟逐水爱山春,两岸桃花夹古津。”在春意盎然的校园里,本学期国际部初小段教师专业发展日如期举行。来自各个校区的老师们汇聚在中兴楼小剧场,围绕着IL培养的三个维度(批判性思维,创新性思维,探究能力),进行了一次精彩纷呈的“桃源行”。

As spring filled the campus, this semester’s professional development (PD) day of SHSID primary and middle school section was successfully held as scheduled. Teachers from all campuses gathered in the theater of Zhongxing Building and had a beautiful “journey to the wonderland”, with the theme of the three dimensions of IL development (critical thinking, creative thinking and inquiry ability).

初中汉语组的黄玉佳老师在“AI助手”的帮助下,介绍了她近期“导演”的一堂Demo课。展示了通过探究性思维行为的循环、运用场景以及学生能力落实(GRASPS),引导学生从“已知”探究“未知”

Ms. Huang Yujia from Middle School Chinese Department firstly introduced her demo class with the “AI helper”, which demonstrated the cycle of inquiry-based thinking behaviors, the use of scenarios, and the implementation of GRASPS to guide students to explore the "unknown" from the "known".

初中数学组杨溪玥、徐玮两位老师“双剑合璧”,展示了她们富有创意的课堂活动。通过鼓励学生质疑、证实、反思,赋予学生“小老师”、“小提问家“等角色,在愉悦的教学氛围中,在学习欲望的驱动下,让孩子们的创造力任意翱翔。

 Ms. Yang Xiyue and Ms. Xu Wei from Middle School Math Department shared their creative classroom activities together. By encouraging students to keep questioning, justifying and reflecting, and by giving students the roles of "little teacher" and "little tutor", the children's creativity would be able to soar in a pleasant teaching and learning atmosphere.

古往今来的神话和寓言故事中,往往充满着争议和矛盾,小学语文组盛敏、张婷两位老师先后分享了语文教学活动与蕴含其中的教育理念。引导学生通过“分析”、“论证”、“辩驳”、“反思”等方式,深入探讨神话和寓言故事中的伦理、价值,以充分激发学生的批判性思维能力。

The myths and fables of the past and present are often full of controversies and contradictions. Two teachers from Primary School Chinese Department, Ms. Sheng Min and Ms. Zhang Ting, shared their classroom activities and the educational concepts embedded in them. In their Chinese classes, students were guided to explore the ethics and values in myths and fables through "analysis", "argumentation", "refutation" and "reflection", in order to fully stimulate their critical thinking skills.

小学数学组苏清越、王渊欣老师介绍了“项目化学习”、“跨学科学习”等方法,鼓励学生将数学知识与实际生活相联系,从不同角度感知数学的概念和应用,培养他们的探究、批判和创新能力。Ms. Su Qingyue and Ms. Wang Yuanxin from Primary School Math Department introduced the methods of "project-based learning" and "interdisciplinary learning". Through these methods, students would be encouraged to connect mathematical knowledge with real life, to perceive mathematical concepts and applications from different perspectives, and to develop their inquiring, critical and creative abilities.

科学组金颖老师分享了她在课上设置的三个与生活相关的小实验,既让课堂充满乐趣和挑战,也在潜移默化中把探索、思考、发现和创造等科学素养传递给学生。

Ms. Jin Ying from Science Department shared three small experiments related to life that she set up in her science class, which not only made the class fun and challenging, but also implied scientific literacy such as exploration, thinking, discovery and creation to students.

初中物理组的冯啸天老师在分享中强调了“秉持兴趣驱动”对于物理学科学习的重要性。基于此,物理老师们在课堂活动和作业设计中强化学科知识和能力的迁移,提高学生解决实际问题的应用能力,并拓展学生在物理学习上的广度和深度。Mr. Feng Xiaotian from Middle School Physics Department emphasized the importance of "upholding interest-driven" in physics learning in his speech. Based on this, the Physics teachers strengthened the transfer of subject knowledge and ability in classroom activities as well as homework design, improved students' application skills in solving practical problems, and expanded the breadth and depth of students' learning in physics.

国际部初小段校长刘炼老师在点评中提出了需要全体教师深入思考的问题:一个现代化的课堂究竟应该是怎么样的?教师应该如何把握三个维度的内涵?如何在日常教学中落实各个培养维度?只有回答好这些问题,才能真正做到——让学生切实感受到各个学科的魅力、联系以及实用性,从而成为更好的“独立自主的学习者”。

Mr. Liu Lian, principal of SHSID middle and primary school, gave his comment after teachers’ sharing. In his review, principal Liu raised the questions that all teachers need to think deeply about — What should a modern classroom be like? How should teachers grasp the connotation of the three dimensions in terms of the IL framework? How to implement each of them in daily teaching? All of the teachers should be clear that only by answering these questions can we truly make students feel the charm and practicality of each subject and then help our students become better "independent learners".

教研组分享结束后,本次教师专业发展日也有幸邀请到浙江大学数学学院的蔡天新教授为大家做了一场题为“从看见到发现——不同学科之间的相互融合”的精彩演讲。作为一名数学家、作家、诗人和旅行者,蔡教授以古今中外一系列关于“数学与诗歌”,“数学与艺术”的例子,从不同角度阐述了观察和学习的要义,引导老师们体悟了不同学科间“画龙点睛”的机智和“天马行空”的创意。

After a short break, we were honored to invite Professor Cai Tianxin from Zhejiang University, School of Mathematics, to give a wonderful lecture entitled "From Seeing to Discovering — The Intergration of Different Disciplines". As a mathematician, writer, poet and traveler, Professor Cai used a series of examples from ancient and modern times, such as "mathematics and poetry" and "mathematics and art", to illustrate the importance of observation and learning from multiple perspectives. All the teachers were guided to understand and appreciate the wit and creativity of different disciplines.

整整三个小时的交流,不同学科,亮点纷呈,一如“落英缤纷”;不同视角,共鸣共勉,只为“豁然开朗”。走出中兴楼,湖畔春光更美,老师们仍然意犹未尽……

The PD Day event was an engaging three-hour communication feast. Each sharing from the teaching and research departments presented their special highlights, just like flowers showing their beauty to the fullest in springtime. The exchange of different perspectives also aroused the thoughts and resonance of each teacher, as if they had really taken a “journey to the wonderland”. The event ended successfully, but SHSID teachers’ professional development never ends.
