PTA-led Barter Trade

Friday, 5th May

This Friday, PTA will be leading the first Barter Trade on campus. if you want to try barter trade, please prepare your things and take them on May 5th.

We strongly suggest students to prepare the following items to exchange: books, stationery, toys;

Parents are also welcome to join in the barter trade, please prepare your items you want to exchange with others, everyone can do barter trade;

We recommend students to exchange items only. If parents buy items from students, cash only (no electric payment)

School uniforms recyle: Your can also take your old school uniforms to Barter trade to donate and receive others uniforms in school uniforms corner.

Donation table: it's also accept donations from students and parents.

Earthquake Drill

Wednesday, 10th May

A school earthquake drill is a practice exercise that XLIS conducts to prepare students, faculty, and staff for earthquakes. The drill usually involves a simulated earthquake scenario where everyone is required to quickly and calmly demonstrate what to do in the event of an earthquake. The importance of school emergency drills such as a fire or earthquake drill cannot be overstated. Earthquakes can strike suddenly and without warning, and the impact can be severe.

By practicing earthquake drills, we can help students, faculty, and staff develop the necessary skills and knowledge to respond quickly and safely in the event of a real earthquake. This can help minimize the risk of injury or loss of life and increase the chances of a successful evacuation and recovery.

Open Day

In May, we will continue to open up for all prospective families and students. On May 13th, we will invite ECE kids aging from 3-6 years old and on May 27th, we will have the Weekend Camp and Sleepover Camp  for students aging from 7-13 years old. Please kindly focus on the official school notice later on if you are interested.

Tuesday, 16th May

The fourth monthly PTA core meeting of the second semester will be held on Tuesday, May 16th, and we will notify all PTA members by email later on.

End of ECAs

Tuesday, 23rd May

Please be kindly reminded that Tuesday the 23rd of May 2023, marks the end of the second semester of our Extra Curricular Activities (ECA). From then onward, buses will depart the school at regular times on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please stay tuned for more classes and sign-up information about this program of next school year. Thank you to all who supported us with this exciting endeavor!

XLIS invites you to its 2023 Summer Fair "A Day for Children Out in Nature!" This Year, we have chose a beautiful location situated in Yi Zhi Hu Park, just minutes away form our campus! Look out for our official email announcement and get ready for a half-day in the sun, full of fun family activities, musical performances and delicious food!

Sleepover at XLIS

Saturday, 27th May - Sunday, 28th May

On May 27th and 28th, we will have our XLIS second weekend camp. The theme of the weekend camp is ‘how we express ourselves’, which is one of the transdisciplinary themes of the IB PYP program. We choose this theme is because we would like to give student opportunities to express themselves more confidently and develop their communication and social skills. We will provide students Language, Visual Art, PSPE, Science class, as well as basketball session and swimming session.

Each Friday one of our homeroom classes has the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning! This is a student-led event that is supported by the teachers. The parents of the class that is presenting will be invited to join the audience.

Student Led Conferences 

Friday, 5th May 

A very important event that is coming on May 5th is our Student Led Conferences. This is an exciting time of year, when our students have the chance to showcase their learning to their families! Students will show all the things they do in the classroom and around the school. Student Led Conferences are beneficial for reasons such as:

Students can demonstrate their achievements through a variety of work samples such as journals, projects, and selections of work that show growth and skill development.

Students use the presentation skills they have learned in class.

Students develop a sense of pride in what they have learned and a feeling of ownership of their learning.

Our students build confidence and positive self-esteem by showing the responsibility they have taken over their learning. We hope to see you all!

Jr. Chang'an Cup

The Third Annual Xi'an International 

Elementary Basketball Invitational

Saturday, 6th May

Nine teams from five international schools will travel to XLIS on May 6th to culminate the 2023 Xi'an International Athletics Conference U11 basketball league by competing for the Jr. Chang'an Cup. The tournament will start at 9:00 AM and be finished by 3:00 PM. All members of the international school community in Xi'an are welcome to join to cheer on these young athletes.

IBDP Exams

Friday, 28th April - Thursday, 18th May

Our DP2 students start their exams on the 28th and they will run up to the 18th May. We wish them the best of luck.

Student Led Conferences

Friday, 5th May

As is the case every year, at this time, all Secondary students reflect on their learning journey and make meaningful connections between the concepts in all the subjects. They use visual representation to show these connections, in the past they have produced excellent work of which their parents have been proud. On the 5th parents from the Secondary will come to school with the students and hear them talk about their leaning experiences. Middle school students will talk to their parents in the morning and High School students from 13:00 onwards.

DP Graduation

Friday, 19th May

The most important event at XLIS- the graduation of our DP2 students. We will celebrate their success and award them their certificates at school on Friday 19th May. From 6pm students, parents and teachers will meet at the Ritz Carlton to celebrate their students. More details will follow as the day approaches.

MYP5 e-assessments

Monday, 8th May - Friday, 19th May

Students of MYP5 will sit for their IB exams from 8th May till 19th May-this is the first time we have registered the students for this important part of the MYP. We wish them all the best.

MYP5 Work Experience

Monday, 22nd May - Thursday, 25th May

This year we have added another important event for the students from MYP5. They will have the opportunity to experience the environment of a work place. Students will be given a work placement and they will spend 4 days working as an employee of the chosen organization.

5月5日（周五）

5月5日我们将首次举办由家委会主导的“以物易物”活动，如果您有兴趣参加，届时请准备好以下物品：

建议学生们可以准备书籍、文具和玩具进行交换。

欢迎家长积极参与活动，如您有兴趣，也请提前准备好需要交换的物品。

建议学生仅进行物品交换。如果家长想购买学生的物品，仅可接受现金支付。

校服回收：学生也可以把不穿的旧校服拿来交换，或捐赠、或易物。

募捐台：接受学生和家长募捐。

校园地震演习

5月10日（周三）

组织校园地震演习的目的是让全体师生和教职工未雨绸缪，为地震的发生做好充分准备。演习中，我们会模拟一个地震场景，要求每个人在地震发生当下迅速冷静采取正确的保护措施。消防演习和地震演习对全体师生非常必要，通过演习帮助学生和教职工掌握紧急自救知识，当灾难来临时，可以在第一时间采取正确的自救措施，最大限度保护生命安全。

我校本学期选修课结课

2023年5月23日（周二）是西安梁家滩国际学校2022-2023学年第二学期选修课的最后一节课。选修课项目结束后，每周二、周四放学后校车的发车时间将恢复为15时45分。敬请关注新学年的课程和报名等信息，感谢您的支持！

周末英文住宿体验营

5月27日（周六） - 5月28日（周日）

5月27日和28日，我们将举办第二场周末英文住宿体验营活动。周末营的主题是 "我们如何表达自己"，这是IB PYP项目的一个跨学科主题。我们选择这个主题是因为我们想让学生们有机会更自信地表达自己，发展他们的沟通和社交能力。我们将为学生们提供语言、视觉艺术、体育、科学课，以及篮球课和游泳课。

每周五

每周五，小学部的部分班级都有机会在阶段学习成果展中展示自己的学习收获。小学部阶段学习成果展一般在老师的支持下由学生主导设计，指定展示班级的学生家长将会受邀来校现场观看

在5月5日的学生主导的会议中，学生们将向家长展示他们的学习成果，包括他们在课堂上学习到的知识和在课外实践活动中的收获。在学生主导的会议中，学生们可以：

通过期刊、项目和精选作品等多种方式展示他们各项技能发展成果。

展示他们在课堂上学到的成果演示技巧。

对自己所学的知识产生自豪感，强化自己在学习中的主体地位。

学生们通过展示他们在学习中承担的责任来建立自信和自尊。期待与大家见面！

第三届长安杯

西安国际学校小学组篮球联赛决赛专场

5月6日（周六）

届时，来自西安5所国际学校的9支代表队将前来我校参加西安国际学校小学组篮球联赛，为争夺“长安杯”冠军展开角逐。比赛将于上午9点开始，下午3点结束。欢迎大家一起来现场观赛，为我们年轻的运动员加油！

国际文凭大学预科项目毕业生全球统考将从4月28日开始，一直持续到5月18日结束，祝愿毕业班学生都能取得优异成绩。

学生主导的会议

5月5日（周五）

每年5月，中学生都会对本学年的学习成果进行总结反思，在所有科目的概念之间建立有意义的联系，并通过可视化的表现形式来展示彼此之间的联系，他们曾经创造出令父母引以为傲的优秀作品。5月5日，我们将邀请中学部的学生家长进校，共同聆听学生们讲述自己的学习收获与心得。其中，中学生主导的会议将在早上进行，高中部分将从下午1点30分开始。

高中毕业典礼

5月19日（周五）

高中毕业典礼是我校每年最重要的活动之一！5月19日（周五），我们将共同庆祝高中二年级学生顺利完成学业，并为他们颁发毕业证书。下午6点，我们还将邀请毕业班的学生、家长和老师在丽思卡尔顿酒店相聚，为学生们的辛苦付出和取得的成就举办庆祝派对。请留意后续详情通知。

中学五年级线上学术测评

5月8日至5月19日，中学五年级学生将参加国际文凭中学项目线上学术测评考试，这是我们首次为学生组织报名参加该考试，祝大家考试顺利。

中学五年级职场实习体验

5月22日（周一）- 5月25日（周四）

5月下旬，中学五年级学生将有机会展开首次工作实习，在真实的工作场景中体验职场日常。实习体验为期四天，期待学生们能够收获宝贵的社会实践经历。

PTA 주관 물물교환 행사

5월 5일 금요일

이번 금요일, PTA 주관으로 교내에서 첫 번째 물물교환행사가 진행될 예정입니다. 물물교환에 참여하고 싶은 학생은 물품을 준비하여 5월 5일에 학교에 가져오기 바랍니다.

학생들은 책, 문구류, 장난감 등 교환할 물품을 준비해 주시기 바랍니다;

학부모님들도 물물교환에 참여하실 수 있으며, 다른 사람과 교환하고 싶은 물품을 준비해 오시면 누구나 물물교환을 할 수 있습니다;

학생들끼리는 물물교환만 하는 것을 권장합니다. 학부모가 학생으로부터 물품을 구매하는 경우 현금 만 사용하도록 합니다. (전자 결제 금지)

교복 물려주기: 헌 교복을 물물교환에 가져와 교복 코너에서 다른 교복을 기부하고 받을 수도 있습니다.

지진 대피 훈련

5월 10일 수요일

학교 지진 훈련은 학생, 교직원 및 교직원이 지진에 대비할 수 있도록 XLIS에서 실시하는 연습 훈련입니다. 훈련에는 일반적으로 모의 지진 시나리오가 포함되며, 모든 사람이 지진 발생 시 신속하고 침착하게 행동해야 합니다. 화재나 지진 훈련과 같은 학교 비상 훈련의 중요성은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않습니다. 지진은 예고 없이 갑자기 발생할 수 있으며 그 영향은 심각할 수 있습니다. 지진 훈련을 통해 학생, 교직원, 교직원이 실제 지진 발생 시 신속하고 안전하게 대응하는 데 필요한 기술과 지식을 개발할 수 있도록 도울 수 있습니다. 이를 통해 부상이나 인명 손실의 위험을 최소화하고 성공적인 대피와 복구의 가능성을 높일 수 있습니다.

XLIS 슬립오버 캠프

5월 27일 토요일 ~ 5월 28일 일요일

5월 27일과 28일에 XLIS 두 번째 주말 캠프가 열립니다. 주말 캠프의 주제는 IB PYP 프로그램의 범학문적 주제 중 하나인 '우리가 자신을 표현하는 방법'입니다. 이 주제를 선택한 이유는 학생들이 보다 자신감 있게 자신을 표현하고 의사소통 및 사회성을 개발할 수 있는 기회를 제공하기 위해서입니다. 우리는 학생들에게 언어, 시각 예술, 체육, 과학 수업뿐만 아니라 농구 세션과 수영 세션을 제공할 것입니다.

5월 5일에 열리는 매우 중요한 행사는 학생 주도 컨퍼런스입니다. 이 행사는 학생들이 가족들에게 배움을 보여줄 수 있는 기회를 갖게 되는 신나는 시간입니다! 학생들은 교실과 학교 내부에서 진행한 모든 학업 활동을 보여줄 것입니다. 학생 주도 컨퍼런스는 다음과 같은 이유로 유익합니다:

학생들은 성장과 기술 개발을 보여주는 일지, 프로젝트,다양한 작품 샘플을 통해 그들의 학습 성과를 보여줄 수 있습니다.

학생들은 수업 시간에 배운 프레젠테이션 기술을 사용하게 됩니다.

학생들은 자신이 배운 것에 대한 자부심과 학습에 대한 주인의식을 갖게 됩니다.

학생들은 자신의 학습에 대한 책임감을 보여줌으로써 자신감과 긍정적인 자존감을 키웁니다. 여러분 모두를 뵙게 되길 기대합니다.

주니어 장안컵

제3회 시안내 국제학교 초등부 농구 초대전

5월 6일 토요일

5개 국제학교의 9개 팀이 5월 6일 XLIS를 방문하여 2023 시안 국제 스포츠 대회 U11 농구 리그의 대미를 장식할 주니어 장안 컵을 놓고 경쟁합니다. 토너먼트는 오전 9시에 시작하여 오후 3시에 종료됩니다. 시안내 국제학교 공동체의 모든 구성원은 주니어 선수들을 응원하기 위해 참여할 수 있습니다.

학생 주도 컨퍼런스

5월 5일 금요일

매년 그렇듯이, 이 시기에 모든 중고등부 학생들은 학습 여정을 되돌아보고 모든 과목의 개념을 의미 있게 연결하는 작업을 진행합니다. 학생들은 시각적 표현을 사용하여 이러한 연결을 보여 주며, 부모님이 자랑스러워하는 훌륭한 작품을 제작해 왔습니다. 5일에는 중고등부 학부모님들이 학생들과 함께 학교에 와서 학생들의 학습 경험에 대해 이야기하는 것을 들을 것입니다. 중학생은 오전에, 고등학생은 13시부터 부모님과 이야기를 나눌 예정입니다.

DP 졸업식

5월 19일 금요일

XLIS에서 가장 중요한 이벤트는 DP2 학생들의 졸업입니다. 5월 19일 금요일에 학교에서 학생들의 성공을 축하하고 수료증을 수여할 예정입니다. 오후 6시부터 학생, 학부모, 교사가 리츠칼튼호텔에서 만나 학생들을 축하할 예정입니다. 자세한 내용은 당일이 다가오면 알려드리겠습니다.

MYP5 온라인 평가 시험

5월 8일 월요일 ~ 5월 19일 금요일

MYP5 학생들은 5월 8일부터 5월 19일까지 IB 시험을 치르게 됩니다. 저희 학교 학생들이 이 시험을  등록한 것은 이번이 처음입니다. 모든 학생들이 최선을 다하길 바랍니다.

MYP5 업무 경험 활동

5월 22일 월요일 ~ 5월 25일 목요일

올해에는 MYP5 학생들을 위한 또 다른 중요한 이벤트가 추가되었습니다. 학생들은 업무 환경을 체험할 수 있는 기회를 갖게 됩니다. 학생들은 어떠한 직장에 배치를 받고 4일 동안 선택한 장소의 조직 일원으로 일하게 됩니다.
