DAWs come in a wide variety of configurations from a single software program on a laptop, to an integrated stand-alone unit, all the way to a highly complex configuration of numerous components controlled by a central computer.

The entire DAW course is divided into four sections: Introductory Activities, Style of the Week, Remixed and Music for Media. Each section has a corresponding learning objective.

In the "Remixed" project,students should choose a piece of music and then find various remixes of it. students should then work with appropriate audio to develop an original remix.

In the "Original work" project,students should develop their own original material and create an original piece of music such as a song or instrumental piece. For each stage of their project, students should keep a process log that accounts for the techniques and processes deployed, along with and account of the key decisions and creative choices.

在整个学习过程，学生都会持续不断的完成自己的原创作品通过老师和学生的反馈，批判性思考和自我反思。

Throughoutthe learning process, students will continue to complete their original works through feedback and criticism from teachers and students.
