Students in MacDuffie Shanghai not only focus on their studies, but also have a wide range of interests and hobbies. While cultivating students' excellent and solid academic ability, we also pay close attention to the cultivation of students' cultural quality, and let various cultures influence each student imperceptably. We ensure that they are gradually accumulated and cultivated in the process of growing up, so that students can truly become students with MacDuffie core values. 

鉴于此，上海美达菲于2021年12月13日-12月22日开展以“ 美美与共，达贤芳菲”为主题的文化节活动。活动共分为英语辩论赛、英文演讲、舞台剧演出、文化论坛、圣诞节晚会五个单元，各学院选派代表参赛，为各自学院荣誉“出战”。通过这些丰富多彩的课外活动，让学生从实践中学习，探索发现自身特长，培养学生对集体的关心，提高团队合作、沟通表达等软实力，形成坚韧不拔、自信乐观的品质。

In view of this, Shanghai MacDuffie will launch a cultural festival from December 13 to December 22, 2021. The activity is divided into English debate competition, English speech, stage play performance, cultural forum and Christmas party. Each college selects representatives to participate in the competition and "fight" for the honor of their college. Through these colorful extracurricular activities, students can learn from practice, explore and discover their own strengths, cultivate students' concern for the community, improve soft skills such as teamwork, communication and expression, and form the quality of perseverance, self-confidence and optimism. 

/01 英语辩论赛/     集体的力量，个人的光辉 MACDUFFIE SCHOOL

唇枪舌战迸发智慧火花，针锋相对碰撞头脑风暴。上海美达菲文化节由一场激动人心的英语辩论赛拉开序幕。学校本着“公平、尊重、客观、严谨”的原则，打造了一个高水平、好影响的辩论平台，来自各学院代表的4支辩论队伍围绕“集体于个人哪个更重要”辩论主题展开了一场没有硝烟的“战争”。辩论是思辨的过程，可以产生宝贵的思考成果。在比赛中，各个学院的选手团结一致，让我们看到了“集体”的力量，在选手智慧的交锋中，更看到了“个人”的光辉。

Verbal sparring sparks of wisdom. The Shanghai MacDuffie Culture Festival kicked off with an exciting English debating competition. In line with the principles of "fairness, respect, objectivity and preciseness", the school created a high-level and influential debate platform. The four debate teams from each school launched a "war" without the fire around the debate theme of "which is more important, community or individual?" Debate is a process of speculation, which can produce valuable thinking results. In the competition, the players of each college united as one, so that we saw the strength of the "community", in the competition of players' wisdom, we saw the brilliance of the "individual".

/02 舞台剧/     追求卓越的自己 MACDUFFIE SCHOOL

创新一场莎士比亚喜剧《驯悍记》的舞台剧，上海美达菲的学子们做到了。参演学子的磨合与排练，编剧创作的斟酌与修改，在表演中“追求卓越的自己”。舞台剧的校园文化不仅可以锻炼学生的语言能力、表演能力以及团队协作能力，还让学生通过剧本演绎对真实世界进行探究，把剧本立意主题与现实生活相联结，发现问题解决问题，于舞台上下实现个性化成长。

Students at MacDuffie School in Shanghai have managed to create a stage production of Shakespeare's comedy the Taming of the Shrew. Students' rehearsed, modified and pursue excellence in the performance. The campus culture of stage plays can not only train students' language ability, performance ability and teamwork ability, but also enable students to explore the real world through the play interpretation, connect the theme of the play with real life, discover and solve problems, and realize personalized growth on the stage. 

/03 英文演讲/     尊重他人，尊重自己 MACDUFFIE SCHOOL

“尊重他人，尊重自己”，借助语言的艺术和魅力，一场以“尊重”为主题的全英文演讲在上海美达菲的校园里举行。此次演讲活动旨在规范学生的口语，提高表述能力，能极大的提升英文演说能力，积累比赛经验，锻炼公众演讲胆量，增强自信心，提高表现力和学术竞争力，为今后的学习与发展奠定基础。比赛中，同学们表达流利、逻辑清晰，展现了美达菲学子别样的风采。

With the help of the art and charm of language, a speech in English on the theme of "Respect" was held on the campus of MacDuffie Shanghai. This speech activity aims to standardize students' oral English, improve their presentation ability, greatly improve their English speaking ability, accumulate competition experience, exercise their courage in public speaking, enhance their confidence, improve their performance and academic competitiveness, and lay a foundation for future learning and development. In the competition, students expressed fluently and logically, showing the unique style of MacDuffie students. 

/04 文化论坛/   创造力的迸发 MACDUFFIE SCHOOL

通过论坛谈论的形式，让同学们化身政治、经济、文化、科技、医疗、教育六大领域的领导者或专家，通过调研不同行业领域的工作职责，来体会美达菲价值观在现实社会中对个人及组织所带来的影响。并以此反观我们目前的学生生活，思考美达菲六大价值观对于塑造同学们未来成为合格全球公民的重要性，并在日常学习生活中一步步去践行这些价值观。参与此次文化论坛活动的学子能够自省内心、追求真理，锻炼口才、展现自我风采，培养能言善智的品行，助力找到自己真正热爱的领域。同时也让观看聆听的学子在谈论中得到更多启发与思考，体会到言语的魅力。 

In the form of forum discussion, students became leaders or experts in politics, economy, culture, science and technology, medical care and education, and experience the impact of MacDuffie values on individuals and organizations in the real society by investigating the job responsibilities of different industries. By reviewing our current student life and thinking about the importance of MacDuffie 's six values in shaping students to become qualified global citizens in the future, we should put these values into practice step by step in our daily study and life. Students participating in this cultural forum can introspect their heart, pursue truth, exercise eloquence, show their own style, cultivate the conduct of good speech and wisdom, and help find their real love for the field. At the same time, watching and listening to students to get more inspiration and thinking in the discussion, and realize the charm of language.

/05 圣诞节晚会/   领导力的华章 MACDUFFIE SCHOOL

圣诞与元旦的碰撞，东方和西方的交融，将二者汇聚在一起，成就了精彩绝伦的圣诞节晚会演出。作为上海美达菲文化周的压轴大戏，四个学院的学子齐上阵，凝聚在一起，充分发挥领导力和团队协作能力，自编自导自演，将歌舞、话剧、合唱、乐器演奏等节目精彩呈现，打造属于上海美达菲的独家记忆，也为2021年度的文化周画上圆满的句号。 

The collision of Christmas and New Year's Day, the blending of East and West, brings them together to create a wonderful Christmas party performance. As the end of Shanghai MacDuffie culture week, all the four colleges students being together, give full play to the leadership and team cooperation ability, with stage play, dances, dramas, chorus, instruments and other exciting shows, for the sole memory of Shanghai MacDuffie, also for the seal on the week end of the year in 2021.
