大家是否想过,表达自己是一种多么有趣的事情?从语言到艺术,从服饰到标志,我们可以通过各种方式来表达自己。

4月24-25日,广州暨大港澳子弟学校(ASJ)小学部举行超学科主题——“我们如何表达自己”的结题展,各年级学子根据不同课题,在探究中学会表达自我,来一探究竟吧!

G1

节日探究

Festival Exploration

G1在本单元“节日探究”主题中,懂得我们通过庆祝来认识和传承文化。每个国家和地区都有自己的庆祝方式,这些方式传承了很多年,并且成为了他们的传统文化。

一年级的学生们在学习探究单元“庆祝”时,通过探究世界各地的庆祝方式,深入了解不同文化之间的异同,并且加深了对自己文化的认知。在探究过程中,孩子们积极学习和探究各种庆祝方式,比如中国的春节、瑞典的中夏节、泰国的泼水节等。

课外,他们通过与家长交流、研读相关书籍和观看相关视频等多种方式,了解各个庆祝活动的背景、意义和庆祝方式。通过庆祝活动的探究,学生们了解了自己的文化和其他国家的文化之间的差异和联系,并且认识到庆祝活动是传承文化的重要方式。

同时,他们也体验到了庆祝活动的欢乐和快乐,增强了对庆祝活动的理解和情感认知。

在这个探究单元结束之际,学生们在结题展上通过小组合作诗歌朗诵的形式,展示了自己对庆祝活动的理解和体验。他们用自己的方式诠释了不同庆祝活动的意义,展示了各自对庆祝活动的独特理解。这也让其他学生有机会了解不同的庆祝方式,并且加深了对不同文化之间的理解。

标志与符号的设计与表达

Signs and Symbols

G2的同学们围绕超学科主题“我们如何表达自己”,探究标志与符号的含义,标志与符号在生活中的作用以及标志与符号的设计和表达,以加深对中心思想“标志与符号推动地方及国际交流”的理解。

结题展上,同学们打造了一个Signs and Symbols Park,邀请了同年级的同学以及PYP部的老师们,以玩的方式交流生活中各种各样的标志与符号。

在主题学习过程中,同学们充分运用所学知识、技能和概念性理解,为创造更美好的PYP社区采取了积极的行动。他们不仅为PYP部环创设计了各种标志与符号,同时,还为学校PYP部的校运会,以及紫荆花校园文化艺术节设计了主题logo,创造力得到了发挥。学习从来不是要我学,而是我要学。

服饰探究

Fashion design

在本单元G3的超学科主题探究“我们如何表达自己”,中服饰探究活动主题和我们的生活息息相关。生活里,孩子们每天都要接触服饰,不管是小女生还是小男生,都能在这个主题的探究中发现服饰的魅力,收获探究的乐趣。

在结题展上,孩子们通过不同的方式来展示自己的探究成果。走秀活动上,孩子们穿上了自己喜欢的服饰以及我们一起制作的环保服饰,大方自信地展示自己的审美,表达了独特个性。

看,接下来的服饰问题抢答赛多么激烈,孩子们都铆足了劲要秀一秀自己的探究收获。孩子们又自发地组成不同的汇报小组,通过讲解演示的方式向大家呈现了我们的探究过程,分享我们的探究心得和体会。

孩子们在不断地观察、探究和欣赏中逐步获得有关服饰的知识,也培养孩子欣赏美的热情和创造美的能力。我们本次的探究也在孩子们的欢声笑语中结束了,在孩子们意犹未尽的笑脸上,一颗“探究”的种子正悄悄地发芽,相信总有一天会开花结果……

广告设计

Advertising

本单元探究中G4的主题是广告,四年级同学在本次“广告”主题的结题展中,学生们分别展示了各种不同类型的广告,如户外广告,公益广告,创意广告,诈骗广告,名人广告等。

学生们拍摄的广告设计充满了创意和想象力。他们运用各种不同的视觉和语言元素,如色彩、图像、文字和声音等,来传递品牌的核心信息和价值主张。

在本次结题展中,我们看到了学生们的广告设计不仅展示了他们的创意和设计能力,还展示了他们的独特的思维。我们期待着看到这些学生将来在广告和营销领域的成就,并成为未来的领袖和创新者。

交流

Communication

G5本单元以“交流”为主题, 中心思想是不同的现代化交流方式为我们提供了新的方式来表达我们的思想、创造性和感觉,在本次结题展中,同学们以小组为单位,通过制作海报和演讲介绍的形式分别展示了各种不同类型的现代化交流方式,如社交媒体,视频直播,平板电脑,ChatGPT等。

同学们通过对各种现代化交流方式的探究,了解各种现代化交流方式的利弊,对生活和社会的影响以及我们相对应的责任,这不仅让他们了解并切实接触时代通信潮流,比如怎样通过ChatGPT提问并获得信息反馈,而且能够让同学们在信息分享和演讲过程中,提高自我表达能力。

G6

中外文化探究

Exploring Chinese and Foreign Cultures

本单元G6同学们围绕“作者与作品”展开对艺术领域的探究。同学们探究了不同的艺术领域—绘画艺术、建筑艺术、雕塑艺术、行为艺术和戏剧艺术等,发现一件优秀的作品往往是作者感情、思想、理念等的承载。

同学们通过了解艺术家以及分析其作品,感受不同艺术作品的风格、特点以及作品表达的思想内涵。在探究过程中,同学们充分发挥自己的沟通技能和思考技能,通过批判性思维表达自己对艺术的理解。

本次结题展,同学们化身为小小艺家展示自己的艺术作品;分享自己感兴趣的艺术领域。在与观众互动的过程中,通过分享作品所蕴含的价值与内涵,表达自己对艺术的看法与理解,加深对单元中心思想的理解,提高自己的思考技能与沟通技能。

Have you all ever thought about how much fun it is to express yourself? From language to art, from clothing to logos, we can express ourselves in a variety of ways.

From April 24 to 25, the primary department of ASJ held an exhibition on the theme of "How to Express Ourselves"!

G1

节日探究

Festival Exploration

Humans recognize and pass on culture through celebration. Each country and region has its own way of celebrating that has been passed down for many years and has become their traditional culture. During the inquiry unit "Celebration",Grade 1 students learn more about the similarities and differences between different cultures and deepen their understanding of their own culture by exploring the ways of celebration around the world. During the inquiry process, the children actively learn and explore various celebrations, such as the Chinese New Year, the Mid-Summer Festival in Sweden, and the Songkran Festival in Thailand. 

Outside of class, they learned about the background, meaning and way of celebrating each celebration through various ways such as communicating with parents, reading relevant books and watching relevant videos. Through the exploration of celebrations, students learn about the differences and connections between their own culture and the cultures of other countries, and recognize that celebration is an important way to pass on culture. At the same time, they also experienced the joy and joy of the celebration, and enhanced their understanding and emotional cognition of the celebration.

At the end of this inquiry unit, students demonstrated their understanding and experience of the celebration through group cooperative poetry readings at the final exhibition. In their own way, they interpreted the meaning of the different celebrations and demonstrated their unique understanding of the celebrations. It also gives other students the opportunity to learn about different ways of celebrating and deepen their understanding of different cultures.

标志与符号的设计与表达

Signs and Symbols

G2 students explored the meaning of signs and symbols, the role of signs and symbols in life, and the design and expression of signs and symbols around the trandisciplinary theme of "How We express ourselves", in order to deepen their understanding of the central idea of "signs and symbols facilitate local and global communication". In the exhibition, the students created the Signs and Symbols Park. They invited the peers and teachers from PYP Department to play to know about various signs and symbols.

During the study, students fully applied their knowledge, skills and conceptual understanding to take positive actions to create a better PYP community. They not only designed various logos and symbols for the PYP department, but also designed theme logos for the school sports meeting of PYP Department and Bauhinia Festival, giving full play to their creativity. Learning is never meant for me to be passive learning , but I want to learn.

服饰探究

Fashion design

Clothing is very relevant to our lives. In our daily life, children wear clothes every day, whether they are beautiful girls or handsome boys, they can discover the charm of clothing and enjoy the inquiry process in this UOI. In the exhibition, the children present their inquiry results in different ways.

The children wore their favourite costumes and the eco-friendly costumes we made together, showing off their aesthetic and expressing their unique personalities with confidence at the catwalk.The clothing quiz followed and the children were all keen to show off their findings. The children then formed themselves into different groups to present the inquiry process and share our insights and experiences through the demonstration and presentation. 

The children gradually gained knowledge about clothing through continuous observation, investigation and appreciation, and also developed their passion for appreciating beauty and creativity abilities. The children's laughter ended our exhibition. On their smiling faces, we can see the seeds of inquiry were quietly sprouting, and we believe they will blossom one day.

广告设计

Advertising

In the  exhibition with the theme of "advertising", fourth-grade students presented various types of advertisements, such as outdoor advertising, public service advertisements, creative advertisements, fraudulent advertisements, celebrity advertisements, and more. The advertisements designed by the students were full of creativity and imagination. 

They used various visual and language elements such as color, images, text, and sound to convey the core information and values of the brand.

In this project exhibition, we saw that the students' advertisement designs not only showcased their creativity and design abilities, but also demonstrated their unique ways of thinking. We look forward to seeing these students' achievements in the field of advertising and marketing in the future, and for them to become future leaders and innovators. 交流

Communication

The theme of this unit for Grade 5 students is "Communication", and the central idea is that different modern communication methods provide us with new ways to express our thoughts, creativity, and feelings. In this exhibition, students presented various types of modern communication methods, such as social media, video live streaming, tablet computers, ChatGPT, etc., in the form of posters and speeches in groups. Through exploring various modern communication methods, students can understand their advantages and disadvantages, their impact on life and society, and our corresponding responsibilities. 

This not only allows them to understand and effectively interact with the communication trends of the times, like how to ask questions and obtain information feedback through ChatGPT, but also enables students to improve their self-expression skills during information sharing and speech processes. Next, let's enjoy the wonderful moments of the students at the exhibition!

G6

中外文化探究

Exploring Chinese and Foreign Cultures

In this unit, G6 students explore the field of art around "authors and works". The students explored different art fields - painting art, architectural art, sculpture art, performance art, drama art...An excellent work is often the carrier of the author's feelings, thoughts, ideas, etc. By understanding the artists and analyzing their works, the students felt the styles and characteristics of different works of art, as well as the ideological connotation expressed by the works. 

During the inquiry process, students gave full play to their communication skills and thinking skills, and expressed their understanding of art through critical thinking.

In this concluding exhibition, the students turned into young artists to show their artworks and share their interested art fields. In the process of interacting with the audience, by sharing the value and connotation contained in the works, express your views and understanding of art, deepen your understanding of the central idea of the unit, and improve your thinking skills and communication skills.

Through this exploration, students not only discovered their favorite expressions, but also learned to better express their thoughts and feelings. At ASJ, we believe it is very important to learn and master how to express ourselves because it not only helps us understand ourselves better, but also helps us communicate and interact better with others.
