烟火为什么五彩斑斓？静电蕴藏了什么力量？我们的身边都有些怎样的微生物？

Why are fireworks so colourful? What power does static electricity contain? What kind of microorganisms are found around us?

这个春天，青浦协和高中部开展了科学展活动周。我们举行知识蜜蜂竞答、投石机大赛、科幻电影之夜，当然还有最受欢迎的科学展示，把每一位观众带入充满未知的精彩世界！

SUIS Qingpu High School students recently held a science fair event, and in addition to the fair, the event included a knowledge bee quiz, a trebuchet contest, and a sci-fi movie night. The most popular part of the event, though, was the science fair itself, an activity that brought every student into a wonderful world of unknowns!

Build a Biodome

生态花园瓶

利用封闭的桶装水塑料瓶，将其模拟成一个花园，在内部设置一整个的气候控制系统；对微控制器进行计算机编程，优化植物和动物的环境条件。

In the “Build a Biodome” project, students created a climate control system in an enclosed bottle garden. They also programmed the microcontroller to optimize the environmental conditions for both plants and animal life.

Flame Test

焰色反应

用竹签沾取不同金属离子液体，并置于火焰上。不同金属离子会产生颜色各异的美丽火焰，学生还向观众解释不同火焰产生的原因。我们在生活中看到的烟火，也是运用了同样的原理。

In the “Flame Test” project, students demonstrated the beautiful flame colours of different metal ions. They also explored the reason why different metals have different flame colours. The fireworks we see on special occasions also use the same scientific principle.

Static Electricity

静电项目

在“静电”项目中，学生们探索并阐述了静电的基本原理。他们还进行了各种各样的演示，比如用静电来移动物体。

In the “Static Electricity” project, students explored and demonstrated the basics of static electricity. They performed various demonstrations such as using static electricity to move objects.

Build a Trebuchet

建造投石机

在这个项目中，四个小组根据自由落体运动的原理建造了投石机，并在科学展活动周期间，使用自己的投石机在准确性和距离方面进行比赛。

In the “Build a Trebuchet” project, four groups built their trebuchets based on projectile motion. In the science fair week, they competed on accuracy and distance using their machines.

Microbe Investigation

微生物调查

学生调查所处不同环境的微生物，例如，厕所、食堂、教室、实验室，甚至人类的皮肤。还利用各类材料制作细胞模型。


In the “Microbe Investigation” project, students investigated microbes from different places such as the toilet, canteen, classrooms, labs, and even human skin. Students also made cell models from various materials.

Sand Casting

动态砂型

学生将熔融的锡放入动态砂型中塑型，以获得不同形状的小物品。

In the “Sand Casting” project, students put molten pewter into a kinetic sand mold to obtain small items with different shapes.

Science Q&A

知识问答

当参观者完成对这些项目的探索时，还可以参加科学问答活动，测试自己的科学知识。答对问题的同学，都能获得一份小礼物。

When students completed the explorations for their projects, they then attended a Science Q&A session where they were tested on what they had learned. Small prizes were awarded for the best answers.

丰富有趣的科学展让每一位参与者都意犹未尽。科学，不仅时时刻刻改变着人类的生活，科学也永远激发着人类的好奇心，鼓励我们不断探索！

Science is always changing our lives! It also inspires human curiosity and encourages us to keep exploring!
