机会总是留给有准备的人，人生也是如此，每一个阶段都需要提前规划并执行。为了锻炼同学们自我规划、提前准备能力，12月20日，上实剑桥举行了主题为“My Dream Job”的A1年级演讲比赛。本场比赛旨在让同学们自行查找相关资料，了解自己所向往的职业，并且能有规划地逐步实现自己心中所想。同时，为了锻炼同学们的口语能力，此次比赛全程由英文完成。

比赛由A1-1黄尊、A1-7赵奕雯主持, 参赛的同学们分别是来自A1-4班的管文迪、A1-5班的杨承霖、A1-9班的田笑宁、A1-6班的虞啸喧、A1-5班的朱旻琪、A1-1班的于曼屏、A1-7班的梁嘉媛、A1-4班的杜妍洁、A1-6班的李瑞冰、A1-6班的董珈文、A1-9班的崔欣怡以及A1-9班的刘迎安。

比赛过程中，同学们各抒己见，向大家分享了对于梦想职业的了解，以及喜欢这个职业的契机：或出于好奇，或出于野心，亦或是被人所激励。但无论如何，每个人的演讲都表达出了对于梦想职业的向往以及憧憬。

A1-4班  管文迪

As a normal high school student, although my passion for history and politics does not help me on any of my school subjects, since l could ever remembered, the great power emmited by the politicians attract me the most. the stories of the past few centuries help me travel throughout the history. Feeling the actual mental state of the historical characters, for example, not only from Napoleon to Lincoln, from the French Revolution in 1789 to the American Civil War in 1861, but also throughout the world, throughout the human history, l can actually learn from the past mistakes made by the predecessors, appreciate the greatness of certain general, appalled by the extent of corruption in certain dynasty.

My great ambition of being a politician is just as same as a child wants to save the world as a superman, unrealistic but not impossible. Just remember, work harder and ignore all the derogatory comments without worrying the final results. You may somehow end up only as an office worker, sitting in the cube all day, doing tedious work, but at least you had fought for it.

Be ambitious and leave no regrets!

A1-5班  杨承霖

Last time I went to Guizhou province to be a voluntary teacher. The school was in a mountain and the students had to walk for a long time in order to go to school everyday. Although it was difficult for them to go to school, they loved to study and they were eager to see the world outside. When they met us, they asked questions one after another. When I saw the eager eyes of those lovely students, I was very glad to share my knowledge with them. When I stood in the front of the classroom, I felt that I was proud of being a teacher because the world of children was simple and beautiful. If I can teach them useful knowledge and help them in their life, I will have a great sense of accomplishment.

A1-9班  田笑宁

I listed several criteria.High wages,best welfare,a lot of holidays,no extra work everyday,workplace is comfortable.After this,A paragraph come into my mind on the Internet.It is about Shanghai experimental foreign language school.Yep,it is our school. I found an advertisement of employing teachers(any subject).To be a teacher?The paragraph said some fantastic welfare,This job is suitable for me which conform to all my standards.And then I need a questionnaire.Asking my future colleagues,are they satisfied with their job.It’s important and necessary. Maybe it's different from what I thought.(asking the teacher sitting in front of me)Is this over?If I work hard,it is not a dream.What’s dream?Some things that it is very very difficult to come true,only can imagine.As a result,I had a further dream job.To be the headmaster..When I walk on the way to school, the students will say hello to me.

A1-6班  虞啸喧

Well, what I wanna say by listing all my experiences above, is that it doesn’t really matter if you actually own your dream job currently or not, as long as your dream is there, in your heart, then just go working hard on it. Provided that that’s what you’re interested in, Exerting that effort wouldn’t be painful, but enjoyable and meaningful.

We could only live once, it’s completely lucky for people to have a chance to spend time doing the things they love. As we are still young right now, go chasing for your dream job and give it a shot!

A1-5班  朱旻琪

It was the story of Coco Chanel which encouraged and inspired me when I faced challenges.

Not only that she was able to survive in extreme poverty and never felt desperate was respected, her talent and courage of changing the style of clothing women in France wore in the19s was more impressive. She abandoned some fashion elements like lace, long dress, silk, which were interpreted as girly, and designed a plainer, simpler, and neutral style. Coco Chanel’s clothing style wen viral. That was not only because because the style was beautiful, but also because hundreds of women can resonate with Chanel’s spirits.

Becoming a fashion designer would be my dream job. If it is not possible, hope I can develop the personality traits of determination, willpower, and desire for independence like Coco Chanel.

A1-1班  于曼屏

I have never stopped my journey of exploration as I grew even older. I consider reality trumps fantasy, because jobs relevant to politics may involve you dealing with critical life and death situations. More precisely, working in the politics department is unrealistic except for being an interpreter, so I backed on my original track, to work in investment banking, not only for the sake of work security but also can execute the strength I have. There are several standards for me choosing the ideal jobs. The priority is passion when choosing jobs, without passion your career path won't last long. Also, money-spinning jobs is of great importance factor to consider. When earn a ton of money, besides investing myself, a large proportion of money can donate to people in need in the rest of the world, this is the ultimate value and meaning of life. Anyway, we work to live, not live to work!

A1-7班  梁嘉媛

Through archeology, we can get inspiration from our ancestors. In the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, there’s an exquisitely made spark lamp. Its design was inspired by the Changxin Palace lamp in the Western Han Dynasty. The palace lantern body is a palace maid who is gilded and sits with light in both hands. The design is very skillful. The sleeve of one hand seems to be wind shield, which is actually a tube to absorb the lampblack, which not only prevents air pollution, but also has aesthetic value. This example is just a tip of an iceberg, and there are still a lot things that we can learn from the ancients. For me, archeologist is a very thought-provoking, meaningful and valuable work. And I dreamed to become an archeologist to unravel more historical mysteries.

A1-4班  杜妍洁

Although I gave up my dream of becoming a superstar, I notice the important role that social media plays in promoting stars. At the blink of an eye, social media became pervasive in our lives. It feels like yesterday people were talking face to face, but today everyone has an online account with a mobile phone.

I learned about what it's like to work in social media and what it takes to succeed in this fields. And work in the line of social media quickly became my dream.

I have always been interested in the creation of articles, and I have always been interested in popular social media platforms nowadays such as Douyin and Weibo. What I like about the social media industry is that it looks at things from different angles and points of view. More importantly, I think my bright and cheerful disposition and innovative ability are very suitable for this job.

A1-6班  李瑞冰

The most important reason why I want to become an animation artist is to make my 7-year-old self proud. Back in my childhood I don’t have a lot of friend , I don’t fit in. And animation characters were my only friends and I’ve learned so much from them and the their stories. The creators of those stories and characters were my childhood heroes. And in the future I hope to become the childhood heroes of many other weird and isolated kids . Enlighten their life and that will be enough.

A1-6班  董珈文

I was questioning everything: is my whole life going to be like this ever since? Why do so many people choose to do this? They choose to do this because they choose to kind of go with that the society says is the ‘right’ things to do and that is to take a corporate job and then they choose to accept that as their reality. I asked myself: ‘Should i go with them? Or should i just listening to myself?’ Imagining my future, i start to ask myself: What would my ideal life look like? if i can do anything i wanted, what would that be? I paint the picture about the day i’m about to go through. Waking up in the morning, making myself a cup of coffee and then sitting in front of a table with so many messy blue prints of building designs laid onto it. Heading to work and passing by an ongoing project of one of my building design. When i get to the office, i will join in the discussion group of my next project.

A1-9班  崔欣怡

Over the past several years,I get to know more about being a designer.Designers need to have not only great drawing skills, but also inspiration and creativity.More importantly, according to some successful designers, the competition in today's designer industry is fierce and there are only a few designers who can be at the top of their game.

In nature,I don't like fierce competition.It means defeating your opponents.What I like is cooperation.So my final decision is to give up being a designer.

Now,I have started to make an initial plan for my future career.After sifting through the options,I settled down on a major in education.

With a steady salary and regular holidays, education is perfect for girls like me who are patient and want a steady job.

A1-9班  刘迎安

Good afternoon my dear teachers and classmates, I am Nabila.

Before I start my speech, I want to ask you a question, what is the significance of having a dream job in your mind? Besides, do you still keep your dream job alive once you got it? Okay, for me, definitely no, I still remember the first job I wondered to have was being a queen of a mermaid kingdom, yes, it is quite ridiculous. From the more cartoons, I have watched and the various computer games I have played, I once want to be a balloon wholesaler, a designer, a gardener even an astronaut. It is obvious that a kid’s mind is variegated when exposed to new things, and I have ended my ‘transition stage’ since I watched a couple of crime movies.

There is a movie clip in one of my favorite movie ‘sheep without a shepherd’ which illustrates that due to the excessive love from a boy’s powerful official parents, so whatever the boy did wrong, no one would punish him. Gradually, he took every rude movement he made as nothing. One day, he had crush on a girl in the first site on a party. He assaulted the girl and started to bother and threaten the girl every day. This episode broke my heart and initiated my discovery. I figure it out that some people who violate the law does not necessarily realize what they have done wrong and how they become a criminal, especially for the teenagers. According to social data, although the percentage of juvenile delinquency has experienced a decreasing tendency for nearly two decades, such cases lead to massive negative effects to the society.

Although the number of crimes is decreasing, we should still pay more attention to the causes of juvenile delinquency, and it’s mainly caused by appropriate education from schools and families. That results in some incorrect moral values and bad manners. Thus, someone must play the liberator’s role. Firstly, I want to be the psychological counselor for young offenders in the rehabilitation centers. Because I want to devote myself to the society and witness one to give up evil ideas and return back to the right track. It will make me feel valuable and have a sense of achievement. My job will be very meaningful. For example, Obama had make mistakes when he was young, he took drugs. But thanks to the help from the counselor who helped him immediately which let him realized his blunder, and the society gave him chances to correct his mistakes, he changed his mind and follow his dream to become the president of the US.

So, that’s my present dream job in my heart, and I will keep it alive all the time.
