合作——从英国之旅正式开始

Cooperation – officially commencing from a UK tour

自创校之初，我们就一直将为学生提供“扎根中华文化兼具国际视野”的教育为己任，致力于为学生提供最适切的教育成长平台。佩特文法学校在英国具有出色的学术背景、深厚的历史底蕴和先进的教育管理理念和方式，进行合作将无疑会助力双方学校进入更高、更具发展性的新阶段。

在这样的背景下，2021年开始，协和教育和英国佩特文法学校建立合作关系。青浦协和率先作为试点学校与佩特开展全方位合作。2023年3月，协和教育总校长卢慧文和青浦区协和双语学校校长黄莹，启程英国，首次正式访问了佩特文法学校，开启了双方合作的新篇章。随后本月，佩特文法学校校长回访青浦协和。

Since its inception, SUIS Qingpu’s mission has been to gather the essence of Chinese and Western educational and cultural resources, aiming to provide students with a comprehensive education so that they develop both international perspectives and a strong foundation in Chinese culture. The SUIS Qingpu Campus has always been committed to providing the best educational growth platform for its students.

Pate’s Grammar School has an outstanding academic background, a profound historical heritage, and advanced educational management structures and processes, all of which will not only support Xiehe Education in enriching its educational resources and improving the quality of its education, but will also help SUIS Qingpu enter a new stage of higher and more sustainable development.

Against this background, SUIS Qingpu and Pate’s Grammar School first established a cooperative relationship in 2021, with SUIS Qingpu taking the lead as a pilot school, undertaking comprehensive cooperation with Pate’s. In March 2023, Maxine Lu, General Principal of Xiehe Education, and Sunny Huang, Co-Principal of the Qingpu Campus, visited Pate’s Grammar School for the first time, opening a new chapter of cooperation between the two institutions. Pate’s Grammar School’s headteacher followed up with a visit to SUIS Qingpu in April.

Pate’s Grammar School’s Headteacher visits Shanghai: exploring the history and future development of SUIS Qingpu

2023年4月24日（周一）下午13：00，英国佩特文法学校校长罗素·埃里考特（Russel Ellicott）抵达我校，以校园之旅开启其回访。在青浦协和黄莹校长和Adam Neufield校长的带领和介绍下，Russel Ellicott漫步校园，亲身感受到了青浦协和的独特魅力和教育理念——融合中西，和谐发展。他对青浦协和一流的设施、创新的教学方法和教职员工积极的工作状态印象深刻，对接下来深入的合作更加期待和向往。

On the afternoon of Monday, April 24, 2023, SUIS Qingpu welcomed Pate’s Grammar School’s headteacher, Mr Russel Ellicott, to the campus. The visit began with a tour of our beautiful campus, led by Ms Sunny and Dr Adam Neufield. Mr Ellicott experienced the unique charm and educational philosophy of the school, where Chinese and Western cultures are integrated through harmonious development.

He was deeply impressed by SUIS Qingpu's first-class facilities, innovative teaching methods, and the dedication of its faculty and staff. As a result of his visit, Mr Ellicott is now looking even more forward to our upcoming collaboration.

经过礼堂，Russel Ellicott校长被邀请为青浦协和三年级获得Super Class的班级颁奖。他深深地感受到了获奖班级师生的激动和欢欣，也看到其他师生为获奖班级师生真心的称赞和喝彩。

During his visit, Mr Ellicott was invited to participate in an awards ceremony with Grade 3 students. He experienced how proud and excited the students were, not only for their own achievements but also for their classmates’ achievements. During such an enthusiastic atmosphere, everyone showed their best side.

He deeply felt the warmth and cohesion amongst SUIS Qingpu staff and students, and also learned about the school's achievements and bright prospects.

签约——缔结协和佩特友好姐妹校之约

The signing: Establishing a sister-school relationship between Suis Qingpu and Pate’s

在校园之旅后，双方在古宅举行了“相长而立，赋能明天”为主题的签约仪式，以巩固两所学校的伙伴关系。协议涵盖了一系列激动人心的计划，包括学生交流项目、联合研究项目和教师培训机会。双方就教育合作事宜达成了共识。

After a campus tour, both parties held a signing ceremony with the theme "Growing Together, Empowering Tomorrow" at the Ancient Scholars House, solidifying the partnership between the two schools.

The agreement covers a series of exciting plans, including student exchange programmes, joint research projects, and teacher training opportunities. Both parties have reached a consensus on educational cooperation matters.

签约仪式由Adam Neufield主持，他对远道而来的佩特校长Russell Ellicott表示热烈欢迎。两校已经在一年前已经开始了线上合作，但受到全球疫情影响，一直未能正式见面庆祝。

此次两校的合作将为学生提供卓越的国际学习体验，通过跨文化交流来促进学生的全面发展。尽管两个学校拥有不同的历史和文化，但双方都相信，通过此次合作，两校之间将能够共享思想和实践经验，协作开展创新项目，通过促进学术发展，跨文化理解，培养更具有全球视野的未来人才。

Before the signing ceremony, Dr Adam Neufield, SUIS Qingpu’s foreign Co-Principal, provided a brief speech, warmly welcoming Mr Ellicott to our school and community. Although the two schools had signed a formal cooperation agreement over a year ago, the global pandemic prevented us from meeting and celebrating face-to-face.

The cooperation between our two schools will provide students with excellent international learning experiences and promote the development of global citizenship through cross-cultural exchanges. Although the two schools have different histories and cultures, both parties believe that they will be able to share ideas and practical experiences, collaborate on innovative projects, and foster future talents with global perspectives, all through the promotion of academic development, cross-cultural understanding, and global awareness.

随后，双方进行了正式的签约仪式，大家共同见证了这激动人心的一刻。

Both parties then proceeded with the signing of the formal agreement, an exciting moment witnessed by attending colleagues and accompanied by much applause.

签约仪式后，Russel Ellicott校长表达了他对青浦协和这个合作伙伴的赞赏，表示这将是两所学校的学生拓宽视野、相互学习和深入了解不同文化的绝佳机会。他非常期待接下来与青浦协和老师们之间的会谈交流。

After the signing ceremony, Mr Ellicott expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with SUIS Qingpu, stating that this cooperation will be an excellent opportunity for students from both schools to expand their horizons, learn from each other, and gain a deeper understanding of their different cultures. He also expressed his eagerness to have discussions and exchanges with the teachers from SUIS Qingpu in the near future.

青浦协和黄莹校长对Russel Ellicott校长能在一个多月内来到上海进行回访表示感谢，她表示自去年双方学校建立紧密联系以来，合作已经得到了不断深化和拓展。如今，在双方校长实地互访学校以后，加深了印象，也将有更多机会派遣双方教师和学生进行互访、交流、学习。志合者，不以山海为远，相信两校的合作将为双方的发展带来新篇章。

Ms Sunny Huang mentioned that ever since the close connection between the two schools was established last year, the cooperation has continued to deepen and expand. Now, after the end of the pandemic, there will be more opportunities for our teachers and students to go to Pate’s for exchanges and learning. In addition, students and teachers from Pate’s will be most welcome to visit and learn in SUIS schools.

会谈——佩特校长与青浦协和各学部深度交流

签约仪式后的第二天，Russel Ellicott校长与青浦协和各个学部分管领导及骨干教师进行了深度交流。在交流中，各学部主管介绍了学部目前正在推进的教育改革和创新，以及遇到的挑战和困难。Russel Ellicott 就上述问题给大家分享了佩特文法学校实践经验和教训。大家就如何高效实现线上线下互动交流，实现资源共享进行热烈的交谈。佩特和大学合作的教师专业培训项目，也将助力青浦协和教师们的职业发展规划培训。Russel Ellicott特别提到佩特学生已经开始选修学习汉语，将来两国学生将更多地交流对话，为彼此学习英语和汉语提供支持和帮助。

On the day after the Signing Ceremony, Mr. Russell Ellicott joined in-depth discussions with leaders from SUIS Qingpu’s departments. During the discussions, each department introduced educational initiatives and innovations currently being implemented at the school as well as a variety of challenges encountered in these processes.

Mr. Ellicott then shared his practical experiences and expertise on educational reform and innovation with the leaders. Teachers from both sides will soon enter interactive exchanges online for purposes of resource sharing. Meanwhile, Pate‘s introduced a professional teacher training programme and opportunities for career development and planning training for SUIS Qingpu teachers.

Russell Ellicott particularly mentioned that Pate’s students have the option to learn Chinese, and there will be opportunities for students from both schools to engage in online exchanges to support and assist each other's English and Chinese learning. Both sides gained a much from the discussions.

Learning about Pate’s Grammar School

佩特文法学校是英国最古老的学校之一，始建于1574年，其位于英格兰格洛斯特郡的切尔滕纳姆市。学校为 11 至 18 岁的学生提供最优质教育，是一所全英顶尖、全国范围选拔的男女混校。

Pate’s Grammar School is one of the oldest schools in the UK. Founded in 1574 and located in the city of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, England, the school provides the highest quality education for students aged 11 to 18 and is a top coeducational school selected by top students across the UK.

佩特在 2012 年和 2020 年两次被《星期日泰晤士报》的优秀学校指南评为“年度最佳中学”。2013 年，学校获得 Ofsted（英国教育标准局） 的杰出评价。佩特是英国最好的公立学校之一，在 A-Level 成绩方面始终名列全国前 5 名。

Pate’s has been named "Best UK Secondary School of the Year" twice by The Sunday Times (2012 and 2020), and in 2013, received an outstanding rating from Ofsted. Pate’s is one of the best public schools in the UK and consistently ranks in the top 5 nationally for A-Level results; mathematics and science are particular strengths of the school.

Approximately 30 students from Pate’s are admitted to Oxford and Cambridge each year, the highest admission rate among all UK schools. Many of Pate’s graduates also receive offers from top universities such as Imperial College and University College London.
